feeling crafty

summer is slipping away.  fast.  before i know it, school will be in full swing.  i have been feeling the urge to craft and finally make some pinterest items.  the projects i've completed from my pinterest account are mainly food and items for the classroom.  here are four projects i would like to try soon!

these yarn balloons are one of the first items i ever pinned.
my first attempt was a disaster.  my friend, erin, told me
to place a thin layer of vaseline on the balloon before
glueing so i'm ready to try again.  more details can be found
here.

this comes from one of my favorite blogs, a beautiful mess.
i have so many old sweaters that i could use to make some
adorable and warm mittens.

this sunshine care package would make me so happy to make
or receive.  i have a special friend in mind to receive this.
more details here

these envelopes are made from scrapbooking paper.
i have so much paper to use since i no longer
scrapbook.  more details here.
so, now that my list is public i better get started on some of these projects!  what have you been wanting to make lately?

dug post

hi, my name is dug.  i'm a beagle.  i'm 2 years old.  anyway, i guess i should tell you some important things about myself.  i like to sniff.  a lot.  i'm a sniffing machine.  i live with my mom and dad.  they're pretty cool.  i love food, but not just any food, human food!  my mom and dad always are feeding me this kibble stuff, but my grandma feeds sneaks me human food.

i spend my day sleeping and eating chew toys.  yeah, i'm tough and eat them.  i highly recommend the stuffing in most of those toys.

anyway, i'm late for my early morning nap.  bye.

thursday

during a break in the rainy evening, we took dug on a little ride and stopped to explore.

psalm 19:1
the heavens proclaim the glory of God.
the skies display his craftsmanship.

beautiful, huh?

bonjour...

and welcome to my blog!  my name is holly french.  i'm a 20-something living in central nebraska.  i'm a follower of Christ and devoted wife to jake.  during the day, i teach 5th grade.  i couldn't imagine a different career and love the roller coaster teaching takes me on.  at night, you can find me eating peanut butter and teaching new tricks to our 2 year old beagle, dug!

i recently have decided to try my hand at blogging in order to better document our life and finally get around to taking some more photos.
